Weekly Bloog 2

(Hello there! I realise this is the first weekly formatted Bloog! Cool! It goes Monday to Sunday! Neat.)

Starting with this this week! I love this song!!! I first heard it in a niche nintendo music comp (linked at the end, i love writing to it)

It’s such a silly song, being a tongue twister but it’s just so relaxing. The vocals are quaint, the instruments are grand, my favourite being the bitcrushed trumpet and xylophone(thank you Pokemon Emerald) and it all just crescendos so wonderfully.

Monday 15th:

…Genshin.

I played Genshin Impact all day.

I like the game but I don’t think I could ever LOVE it. A lot of its decisions have just really turned me off the experience, Natlan was the absolute final straw for me. You’ll hear nothing but praise for it nowadays but that’s because most people dropped it after that. I think part of living is opening yourself up to suboptimal and “mid” experiences. Sure, it’s nice having a pretty spotless gaming record of nothing but phenomenal, game of the year candidate experiences, but playing some less good stuff is also really fun. Except for Genshin, because that game takes up way too much of your time and I don’t feel rewarded for any of it. BOTW? Phenomenal game that you can play as much or as long as you want for the full experience. ToTK? I didn’t finish it because I went to Eldin and forgot my least favourite character ever Yunobo was there, and him being around me angers me to no end; to the point where knowing I could permanently keep Sidon wasn’t enough to hold me to it.

No, that’s (probably) not the reason, it’s because there was too much to do and none of it was enjoyable. Cramming the usage of about 11 different abilities into my 10 min walk was constantly holding me back from enjoying anything and I really hate how the gaming landscape has evolved to where everything is not just live service but open world. It just gets to the point of being grossly unmanageable.

Strange revelation I’ve reached about a theory I apply to 100% of the bad fanfiction I read. Speaking of which, I’m planning to revisit an old classic to celebrate the new Danganronpa remaster. Hee hee ho ho 🙂

Tuesday 16th:

I had college today.

Wednesday 17th:

Someone in my class asked me for the name of a pokemon they couldn’t remember.
I’m so sigma
(is that really embarrassing? maybe it is)

Thursday 18th:

I had a school trip!!! WOW!!!
We went to some place , it was incredibly boring and I kind of hated it? One of my classmates put it really well, it was just very preformative? Then we had to travel to the Tate Modern, which is a massive art kind of a nightmare? Why isn’t there a bus that goes there? WHY IS EVERYTHING A 20 MIN WALK THERE??? I also fell down a flight of stairs as well so that didn't really help with the walking aspect.

Grublin has been in my pocket (most recent tamagotchi), just kind of chilling with Sidon (my other tamagotchi). He’s a very cute orange axolotl. I still haven’t really forgiven myself for Mochi’s demise, even though it was really she got hit with the 35% sickness chance when I couldn’t monitor her, which is just my luck. I see a lot of Mochi in Grublin though. They’re both incredibly anxious and have yellow cheeks that turn blue when they get upset. She’s still kinda sorta there I guess. Just had to do what she needed to on September 11th :(

Friday 19th:

I took a nap that was literally it. I was very tired.
Oh wait I finished Cheddars sheet actually its here

I made her for college Dnd but I'm waiting for the dm to actually decide on a story so her backstory makes sense. In the meantime, can’t wait to write her into Radical Daydreamers 3rd book that takes place like, 7 years after the main story starts. I have done so little proper writing it’s kind of making me mad lol. Don’t get me wrong, I got every story noted down in stupid detail, it’s just the actual writing stuff I'm too embarrassed to proofread and publish.

Saturday 20th:

I went to see the new Demon Slayer movie. I only found out when I got there it was 3 HOURS LONG???
I had a really good time actually. Probably because half of it was cracking jokes to the point of tears with my brother. As someone who’s knowledge of the series starts and ends with the fact I know the main character is called Tanjiro and he can real smell good, it was surprisingly comprehensive. The film gave me a good idea about the character’s motivations and history.

Micheal Jackson is a very evil demon who has like, 12 evil demons that work under him to do…something? I think he’s trying to turn himself into a human with demon powers so he doesn’t die when the sun comes out, so I guess they work kind of like vampires?

I do like how they manage the fact everyone fights with a sword by giving them different types like lightning style and insect style, and the general principles of swordfighting are expanded on so much, it's very cool and thorough.

But if evil, why hot?

Anyways, the fights are really pretty but also it’s not a finished story. It ends in the middle of the conflict.

So I guess a new movie is coming out in like, 2057 then. Cool.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and I would consider actually watching the series but not knowing what's happening is a lot funnier. A Chainsaw Man movie and a Jujistu Kaisen movie are coming out in October and November respectively but you couldn’t pay me to watch CSM and JJK doesn’t seem that interesting to me outside of fanfiction.

I was treated to Five Guys on the way back home. It wasn’t great. I couldn’t finish it because it just wasn’t nice to eat, as well as bloody expensive (2 burgers and 1 chips was over 30 quid??? what the hell???) so that won’t be happening again. I’ve had it hyped up to me for years so it was a pretty disappointing end to an otherwise pretty fun day.

Sunday 21st:

I went to a baptism today! Actually, it was a baptism party, which was kind of awkward for me to be sat in a loud room blasting Pharell Williams “Happy”, while 7 year olds played Simon Says. I kind of just sat outside and doodled until it was time to go back home. Also awkward for me to be in ill-fitting fancy dress that my mother insisted I wear instead of my comfortable hoodie like most people were. I know I’m an adult but fancy dress is lame. I had chicken nuggets for dinner. It was incredibly nice to be invited though, my neighbours are very nice :)

Overall pretty average week outside of the cinema. Didn’t read that fanfiction I wanted to, unfortunately. Next week for sure.
